HELL & DAMNATION
"There is a dreadful Hell,
And everlasting pains;
There sinners must with devils dwell,
In darkness, fire and chains"
The infernal dungeon of HellThe biggest problem for those in Hell
The annals of Hell—or the biography of devils
Sinners in Hell are not the fools they were on earth
The most unpopular, hated and feared teaching in the entire Bible
A misery beyond all expression
They will not believe it until they feel it
All will be pure, unmingled happiness—or pure, unmingled misery
Let us often go to Hell while we live
Perpetual fuel to the flames of Hell
I might have escaped all this misery
There would be a jubilee in Hell at the very thought of it
Sudden destruction, and that without remedy!
Sweeter morsels both for worms and devils
Enough to put them into a cold sweat
Fanning the inextinguishable fire, and sharpening the tooth of the immortal worm
Could every damned sinner weep a whole ocean
Who can fairly represent the horrors of that horrible place!
The day of judgment is coming, burning like a furnace
Tell them that their poor brother is in flames, tormenting flames, inextinguishable flames!
The Lost Souls First Day in Eternity
O lay your ear to the door of Hell
They are preaching up the devil's old, favorite doctrine
The eternal duration of Hell's torments
A bugbear to frighten children and fools
The great day of His wrath has come
It is His groans, His tears, His cries—which best tell what Hell means
The sure conclusion of a godless life
The fire, the worm, the prison are eternal
Lost, lost, lost and lost for nothing
O, it was one word that I saw in your book which troubles me
The bitterest ingredient in the 'cup of divine displeasure'
What do you now think of the delights of sin?
No one can escape from that prison
No one really desires to go to Hell
A never-dying appetite for sin
It would make a man to tremble
Jesus Christ went into the furnace of His Father's wrath
What would the damned in Hell give, for one hour's sleep
Though sought with an ocean of tears
A vast den of poisonous hissing serpents
How did those poor scorched Sodomites run
To help your conception of what Hell is
It would be a kind of Heaven to the damned
It is true—I do love my sins, my lusts and pleasures
I have often been shocked with the thought
We have but added fuel to those burning coals
Such likeness between men and swine
Oh! Who can grasp the thought!
You may as well throw your Bible away at once
Hanging over the brink of the bottomless pit
An eyesore to the damned in Hell
Your conscience will not always sleep
God is too kind to punish the ungodly
The best way to be preserved from falling into Hell
The conflagration of the world
Miserable suicide of my own soul?
The saints' Hell—and the sinners' heaven
The way to Hell looks pleasant
Without a rag on his back, or a penny in his purse
They are not too young to go to Hell
The torments in Hell are manifold
Alas! Who can conceive what it is to lie down in everlasting burnings?
The very place in which the wicked shall lodge
Tomorrow comes—and they are in Hell
Who knows the power of God's anger?
These are the words which the Lord Jesus Christ Himself employs
Hell is full of the Divine holiness
If God would take the covering off the mouth of Hell
Imagine yourself to be cast into a fiery oven
Turned into beasts, birds, stones, trees, or air
By the fire which burnt down our city!
The weepings and wailings of the damned
Some of the preachers say that there is no Hell
It is a terrifying thing to fall into the hands of the living God
Matchless, easeless, and endless torments!
Truly, this is a most painful thought to us
CHARACTER AND DOOM OF THE WICKED
All the ravishments of His presence and love
The base cares & the petty enjoyments of the present world
He awoke with everlasting flames about his ears
For a moment of sinful pleasure
We cannot fathom the horrors of that dismal dungeon of lost souls
Endeavor to realize the solemn scene
Sinners in the hands of an angry God
He will go on sinning and suffering forever
Thousands of preachers who would not dare cut Hell out of their Bibles
Imagine all the depths of Hell
