A mere profession?
-Spurgeon, from his sermon, "Secret Sins"
A 'mere profession' is but painted pageantry
to go to hell in.
It is like the plumes upon the hearse, or the trappings
upon the black horses which drag men to their graves,
the funeral array of dead souls.
To be out of Christ is a dreadful thing.
To be dead in sin is a fearful thing.
Death is a solemn thing.
Damnation is a horrible thing.
