John 1:14, "The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us. We have seen His glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth."

Behold the glory of His Person! Jesus is not merely a teacher who came from God, nor merely a prophet sent to reveal God's will. He is the eternal Son, who perfectly reveals the invisible God. In the person of Jesus--the wisdom, holiness, goodness, love, grace, and mercy of God shine forth. He is the image of the invisible God, the radiance of God's glory and the exact representation of His nature.

Apart from Jesus, God remains the invisible God.
In Jesus, the invisible God is made known.

How solemn then, is the blindness of the natural heart! A man may speak much about God, religion, morality, and even Jesus; while remaining a stranger to His glory. Saving faith does not merely acknowledge facts about Jesus. Faith beholds in Jesus, the glory of God Himself. Faith sees divine wisdom in His salvation of sinners; divine holiness in His dealings with sin; and divine mercy in His saving work.  Jesus is the foundation of our faith and the Rock of our salvation. This is why Jesus is precious to those who truly believe.

Behold the transforming power of this sight! We become like what habitually occupies our minds. Sinful desires imprint their likeness upon those who continually contemplate them. How much more should the continual contemplation of Jesus, imprint His likeness upon the soul! To behold the glory of Jesus by faith, is a most wondrous sight. It is the means by which the Holy Spirit transforms us into His likeness.

Ask yourself:
Is Jesus truly glorious in my eyes?
Do I behold the beauty of God in Him?
Do I delight to contemplate His wisdom, love, grace, goodness, holiness, and righteousness?
Do I hunger to know Him more deeply?
Do thoughts of His glory, loosen my grip upon the fading vanities of earth, and awaken longing for Heaven?

The greatest privilege granted to a believer on earth is to behold, by faith, the glory of Jesus! This imperfect sight is the dawn of Heaven itself. One day faith shall become sight, and we shall behold Him in the fullness of His glory. Until then, let this be the cry of our hearts: "Lord Jesus, show me more of Your glory!"

"Father, I want those You have given Me to be with Me where I am, that they may see the glory You gave Me because You loved Me before the foundation of the world!" John 17:24
