But he must leave his riotous living, his wine-cup, his debauchery in the far country!

(Charles Spurgeon)

"Everyone who confesses the name of the Lord must turn away from wickedness." 2 Timothy 2:19

HTML clipboardReturning to God, includes turning from sin. Do you think that when the prodigal came back to his father, he brought his dice in one hand and some other implement of sin in the other? He may come wretched through hunger and famine, but he must leave his riotous living, his wine-cup, his debauchery in the far country. These cannot be tolerated in his father's house!

"He gave Himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for Himself a people that are His very own, eager to do what is good." Titus 2:14
