Three steps in the Christian's life.

"Remember how the Lord your God led you
all the way in the desert these forty years,
to humble you and to test you in order to
know what was in your heart..." Deut. 8:2.

There are three steps in the Christian's life.
The first is humility.
The second is humility.
The third is humility.

Jesus, the lowly one, seeks to keep us from
the loftiness of our intellect, and from the
pride of our heart, by prostrating us low in
the dust at His feet.

Holy posture! Blessed place! There, Lord,
would I lie; my trickling tears of penitence
and love, falling upon those dear feet that
have never misled, but have always gone
before, leading me by the right way, the
best way, to the city of rest.
