Hush your
insane murmurs, O worm!
(James W. Alexander, "Consolation" 1852)
"Will
not the Judge of all the earth do right?"
Genesis 18:25
The Judge of all the earth will do right! The
reverse is inconceivable. When we think of a
being who can do wrong—we no longer think
of God. Nothing which He does can be . . .
unjust,
arbitrary,
or harsh.
Will
not the Judge of all the earth do right?
"It
is unthinkable that God would do
wrong, that
the Almighty would pervert justice." Job 34:12
Hush your insane murmurs, O worm!
Submission to God's will, and that in the most
absolute sense, is the duty of every believer; and
is a state of mind to which the influences of the
regenerating and sanctifying Spirit infallibly lead.
